About us
Trusted for safe, reliable marine services and commercial diving across harbours, lakes, estuaries, rivers, and open water.

Daniel Vining
Dan brings hands-on expertise to everything he does — from diving to structural works — with a rare mix of marine and construction skills. He holds an Inshore Launchmaster skipper's qualification, is a Level 2 ADAS commercial diver, and is also a Licensed Building Practitioner.
Over the years, Dan has installed and maintained moorings throughout New Zealand, and built, repaired, and looked after wharves in places like the Marlborough Sounds. Before taking the helm of Bay Marine Works, he worked on residential building projects and commercial dive jobs around Tauranga. He’s confident skippering vessels up to 24 m in length and operating up to 12 nautical miles offshore.

Luke Wright
With over 13 years in the marine industry, Luke is your go-to for high-stakes, complex underwater and marine construction work. As a qualified ADAS Level 3 commercial diver and dive supervisor, he’s led multi-faceted projects — from salvage and offshore inspections to large-scale marine construction.
Luke holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Marine Biology from the University of Auckland. His academic training deepened his love for the marine world, and drives his commitment to protecting and preserving it.
He also holds a commercial skipper’s qualification, so whether you’re under the water or on it, Luke knows how to get things done safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Claire Vining
Meet Claire: part-time admin whizz, part-time teacher, and full-time mum (Multitasking Queen). She’s the friendly voice on the other side of the emails for Bay Marine Works, Organiser of the Calendar, and the one who keeps Dan and Luke in line (someone has to!).
