Overview
Bay Marine Works completed a specialist underwater anode installation at a client vessel berth in Tauranga. The project involved fitting 300 kg anodes to steel sheet piling around the travel lift bay to provide long-term corrosion protection.

Scope of Work

• Installation of anodes to prevent corrosion on steel sheet piling
• Use of surface-supplied breathing apparatus (SSBA) for diver safety and efficiency
• Broco underwater welding used for secure and precise attachment
• Deployment of support vessels for accurate positioning and diver alignment
• Post-installation inspection using underwater CP (cathodic protection) meter to confirm full electrical continuity

Outcome
The project was completed safely and efficiently, delivering verified corrosion protection and demonstrating Bay Marine Works’ expertise in technical underwater welding and marine engineering under challenging conditions.
